Clinique Stay Matte Oil Free Makeup Review

Clinique Stay Matte Oil Free Makeup Claim: “Benefits Controls Oil Tested for streaking and fading at 88°F with a constant 80% humidity, all to prove Stay-Matte stays fresh. At the same time, this patent-pending formula absorbs shine, controls oil, resists sweat. And you stay matte all day.”

Method of use: The Clinique Stay Matte Oil Free Makeup can be applied with fingers, sponge or foundation brush. I have tried all three methods and have found using the foundation brush the most convenient. With finger application, a uniform and even look could  be difficult to achieve. With the damp sponge, you will be able to get a sheer and even finish and thus will have to compromise on coverage. For maximum coverage using a brush is the best option.

My Experience: I bought the Clinique Stay Matte Oil Free Makeup  when I was on the lookout for a foundation which has a yellow undertone, is matte and long lasting.

At the same time  I was visiting the newly opened Clinique store  and was looking to try out some of their products.

At the suggestion of the SA I decided to try this out. The foundation dries quickly to a matte finish. The coverage is medium and can be built up. But at no point it would be full coverage as such.

In case of using too much product I noticed that it lasts for a lesser amount of time.

The appropriate amount to use would be about one to one and a half pump. This product comes in a tube so I’m giving you a measure equivalent to a pump. It is best used with a primer or and moisturizer underneath. Using a sunscreen underneath also gave a good finish to the application.

I would say the Clinique Stay Matte Oil Free Makeup would be best for the summer months, when you would be looking to stay away from the oily look. I did not experience this to be water proof but rather water resistant to the extent of around 70%, which means that a gentle splash on the face did not take off considerable amount of product.

So a quick freshening up on the go is possible, without reapplying the makeup. Just a dab of powder and looks all made up.
